What a joy it is to feature wonderful guest choirs from local schools on our programs! We’re really looking forward sharing the stage and hearing these three talented groups in our “Tidings of Joy” concerts in December.

Friday, December 3rd
Keller United Methodist Church
Keller High School Chamber Choir
directed by Chi-Chi King

The Chamber Singers Varsity Mixed Choir is one of 6 choirs at Keller High School and is the premier auditioned choir. This ensemble has been invited to perform at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Ft. Worth for various occasions, including the retirement of a commander, the change of command, and the inaugural service of a new aircraft. The choir was also invited to perform for the State Board of Education in Austin. VM has consistently received the Sweepstakes Trophy at UIL contests for the last 25 years and has been awarded outstanding choir at in-state and out-of-state festivals. This is the Chamber Singers’ 4th appearance with the Ft. Worth Chorale and they are excited to be a part of this
holiday concert series.

Saturday, December 4th
St. Vincent’s Cathedral, Bedford
Arlington High School Chamber Choir
directed by Mason Barlow

The AHS Chamber Singers are comprised of auditioned 10 th through 12 th grade students from a variety of disciplines, making up the top 24 singers of the program. This ensemble competes annually at the Chamber/Madrigal Festival Competitions and consistently earns Division I ratings and “Performance of
Distinction” Awards. These students are enrolled in AP, IB and advanced coursework – many of them at the top of their class. Several are active participants in other programs, including theatre, band, orchestra, football, baseball and soccer. Most recently, several students in this choir performed with AHS’s Colt Chorale Varsity Tenor/Bass Choir in their invited performance to the Texas Music Educators Association(TMEA) Convention.

Sunday, December 5th
University Christian Church, Fort Worth
Children’s Choir of Texas

The Children’s Choir of Texas is an auditioned ensemble of 5 th and 6 th graders based out of the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts. This ensemble regularly collaborates with university and community choirs throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area and has received invitations to perform at multiple major music
conferences, including the Texas Music Educators Association (2010, 2014), the Southwest American Choral Directors Association (2016, 2020) and the National American Choral Directors Association conference in 2021. Students in this program rehearse daily and receive training in musical literacy, vocal
technique and music theory. This February, they will take the stage to perform in the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts’ production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
