MEET OUR FUNDRAISING CHAIR, JEANETTE FURGO

I began singing with the Fort Worth Chorale in 2019. I had sung with two other choirs in the DFW area previously, but the FWC just feels like home! When it comes to choral singing, I echo the sentiments of John Rutter: "Choral music is not one of life's frills. It's something that goes to the very heart of our humanity, our sense of community, and our souls. You express, when you sing, your soul in song".

Being able to do this with a group of talented, like-minded singers is nothing other than pure magic. After I graduated from college, I found a job fundraising for the Children's Hospital of Orange County. I loved it so much that I went back to the University of California, Irvine to pursue a continuing education certificate course in non-profit fundraising. I feel very passionate about fundraising for the arts because they serve EVERYONE – not just an endangered species or those suffering with a specific disease. There are many worthy causes, but the arts are for all of us - and I love that!
